Tras una traumática relación destructiva, la cineasta Maja Borg trata de recuperar el sentido de la intimidad y de reestablecer límites, adoptando simultáneamente rituales de la práctica BDSM queer y de su propia herencia cristiana. Borg retrata la humanidad subyacente en el corazón de las comunidades BDSM, a la vez que arroja luz sobre sus similitudes con el cristianismo. El nexo entre entre sexualidad y espiritualidad es para Borg muy claro y se llama "Pasión".
PASSION is an intensely personal film about longing, healing, and belonging where filmmaker Maja Borg illustrates their unique process of dealing with trauma in the wake of a destructive relationship. In seeking to reclaim intimacy and re-establish boundaries Borg is drawn to queer BDSM practice, through which they´re able to explore their long-forgotten Christian heritage. Adopting rituals and play from both queer BDSM and Christian communities, Borg finds themselves able to acknowledge and accept their own longings, confronting their darkest parts in order to move forwards. The film tells the stories of queer BDSM practitioners in Berlin, Stockholm and Barcelona and portrays the humanity at the heart of the practise while illuminating its similarities with Christianity on an emotional and perhaps even spiritual level.
(Català) Després d´una relació destructiva, le cineaste Maja Borg tracta de recuperar el sentit de la intimitat i restablir els límits, adoptant simultàniament rituals de pràctica BDSM queer i de la seva pròpia herència cristiana. Borg retrata la humanitat subjacent en el cor de les comunitats BDSM, a la vegada que llança llum sobre les similituds amb el cristianisme. El nexe entre la sexualitat i l´espiritualitat es per a Borg molt clar i s´anomena PASSIÓ.
