Matilde Cisneros es una anciana que vive junto a sus tres hijas en un pequeño pueblo del interior de Andalucía a principio de los años 70. Tras la muerte de Matilde, sus hijas se disponen a preparar su velatorio, a pesar de que todo el pueblo les da la espalda. La herencia de Matilde, compuesta de propiedades y terrenos, y la llegada de un inesperado hermano mayor, convierte la codicia y el propio interés en el eje de la historia.

Set in an isolated Andalusian village in the early 1970s, the story revolves around a family mourning the death of the elderly matriarch and the deep tensions that are reignited with the return of her estranged son Eugenio, who left years earlier. As his three sisters grieve, the dark stain that has long haunted the family resurfaces. Eugenio’s return reawakens ill feelings among the neighbors, whose livelihood has been devastated by a plague that has destroyed the village´s once fertile olive grove.
