A journey through one of the places which we know little about even though it is always in the eye of the world. What music provides a voice and a melody for this mythical place? Who are its most representative musicians and how do they live? Whatdothey think of the unique destiny which is theirs and how do they face up to it through their music and words? From the advertisement hoardings and neon lights of Tel Aviv to the poverty and desperation of the occupied territories of Cisjordan andthehuge concentration camp which the Gaza strip has turned into, in “Checkpoint Rock” we share a journey with very different musicians. As we travel from village to village and from checkpoint to checkpoint, this journey will change not only the viewwehave of this people in conflict but also our view of ourselves.
