Sus filmaciones eran toda su vida, toda su historia.Mirwais es un joven cineasta que tuvo que emigrar a consecuencia de las continuas guerras que vivió el país. Primero contra los rusos y después entre las facciones muyahidines. La llegada de los Talibán no fue mejor para él y su familia. Durantesuexilio en Pakistán siempre estuvo pensando en el cine. Su deseo era poder trabajar entre los suyos. Ahora ha vuelto a Kabul. Nada más llegar, visita la sala de proyecciones que frecuentaba cuando era pequeño. Está completamente destruida. Nine workers for Afghan Film (The Afghan film Institute) resist the offer of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and put their lives at risk when they hide part ofthearchive to avoid it being burnt. The filmed material was their whole lives, all their history.Mirwais is a young film maker who had to emigrate as a result of the continual wars his country was suffering, first against the Russians and then between the Mujahidin factions. The arrival of the Taliban was no better for him and his family.Duringhis exile in Pakistan he was always thinking about the cinema. The only thing he wanted was to be able to work among his own people. Now he has returned to Kabul. As soon as he arrived he visited the cinema he used to go to when he was a child. Itiscompletely destroyed but its phantasmagorical appearance brings back memories and provides the inspiration for a new film.
